From what I have seen, mental stability, self image and willpower are important factors in the cyber conversion into a unique Nikke, that and parts availability. However, the body itself is very responsive to any change of those three factors, and any imbalance of those will reflect on the body. A Mind Switch is a change of all those three factors that basically mean that the Nikke has become a new person. See Snow White, who already grew up from her waifish original form to the brutal badass she became by Overzone. she only began integrating Rapture parts into her body after Overzone and her discovering Lilith desecrated corpse and Rapi in the latest Chapter.
Hell, even the Heretics have their own version, but it goes the other way as they diverse themselves from the little shreds of humanity that they still hold in them. Behemoth shows that.
I belive this hasn't been mentioned in the game since the prologue, but what exactly is an Irregular?
Honestly, given Misilis and MMR, them going full eugenics would honestly not be that big of a surprise.
I could see Neon coming up with that short of theory, and Elen making some type of comment about not having kids.
Dont know who Behemoth is, but double checking the wiki for irregular shows that its used to refer to a Nikke whos either corrupted or suffering from Mind Switch.

Tbf Elen is shockingly resilient against some situations guaranteed to cause a normal nikke to Mind Switch, but paradoxially certain innocuous things might cause it in her too.
Like I suspect when she receives her upgrade/body, it might cause her to go into one unless there's a crisis to snap her back and move on, because when she gets her personal ideal body, she's no longer trapped in a MP body, she's going to have to deal with the fact that her self image might have drifted so far that she doesn't know the person in the mirror (at first).
That is a fair point. Elen's future body is certainly not going to look anything like me. You might get hair and eye color, but that's about it. Elens going to have to go through the same process all over again.
